Terms & Policies

In making a booking or reservation, you are agreeing to the rental terms & policies below. This agreement is between registered guests who book accommodations or other services and all members travelling with them in their party (referred to hereafter as 'Guests' and 'you' and 'your') and Iron Mountain Wilderness Cabins, and their parent company FireHouse Ironworks Ltd., a business registered in the Province of Nova Scotia (referred to hereafter as the 'Company' and 'us', 'we' and 'our'):
Unserviced Off-Grid Accommodations

Please be advised before making a booking that our cabins are not serviced with water or electricity. You have to walk to the serviced, shared, male and female washrooms & showers nearby (max 100 meters). Solar lighting, heat and BBQ propane is included. Bedding, dishes, and firewood are not included, but can be purchased during booking or provided on-site with advance notice. Refunds are not provided to Guests who arrive and are not prepared for camping in our cabins! You can read all about what is included in the cabins by clicking here.

Waiver of Rights and Liability Release

Iron Mountain Wilderness Cabins, a division of FireHouse Ironworks LTD and its employees, contractors, suppliers and shareholders will not be liable in the event that Guests suffer an accident or illness arising from their access and use of our cabins, main lodge and property at 901 Whycocomagh Mountain Road, Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. In completing a booking, the Guests visiting the property agree to save harmless and release the Company from liability for any injury or illness arising from booking and using rental accommodations and facilities. You understand that it is up to you and your party to use the property safely in accordance with the following terms and policies.

Check-in/Check-out Times

Check-in time for our cabins is between 3:30pm and 6:30pm on your booking start date. If you anticipate arriving outside of these hours please contact us in advance so a staff member will be available to check you into your cabin. If we have not heard from you, you may not be able to access the facility outside of these hours - NO CHECK-INS after 9pm. Please see our cancellation policy for more details on cancelling your booking.

Check-out time is 10:30am on the end date of your booking.

Maximum Occupants

The recommended number of adults staying in one cabin is 3. The top bunk is suitable for children and small adults only. The maximum number of people per cabin is 4. Rates are based on up to 2 adults and 2 children. A fee of $10/night is applicable for an additional adult(s).

Wildlife & Food Scraps

This is a wilderness setting. Be aware that bear, coyote, fox, lynx, moose, deer and other wild animals live in this area. Please do not feed or harass wildlife. If you spot a large animal such as a bear, moose, or coyote near the cabins or main lodge, please let a staff member know when and where you saw it so that we can take appropriate precautions and let other guests know of the animal's presence. Please dispose of all food waste in the garbage bins provided in your cabin.

Recyclables  

Please take your recyclable containers with you on departure. We do not have regular recycling pick-up on the mountain. Thank you.

Vehicle and Trailer Parking

Vehicle parking is located behind the cabins, extra large vehicles may need to park in the upper parking lot. Cabin bookings include parking for one vehicle and recreational vehicle trailer. Park'N'Play reservations include parking for one vehicle and trailer in our parking lot. Quiet hours are in effect on the property between the hours of 8pm and 8am. You must carry your own insurance for vehicles and personal property. We are not responsible for damages that occur, you agree to release and save harmless the Company from liability for any damages to your property while it is stored or parked at Iron Mountain Wilderness Cabins.

Pet Policy

The maximum number of dogs per cabin is 2. We do not permit other animal pets to stay in the cabins at this time. If travelling with a dog(s), please be respectful of others and use a leash. A $10 pet cleaning fee is applicable for each dog/night. On your rented cabin site your pets must be tethered or controlled so that they cannot leave your site clearing. Please keep your dogs off of the furniture. Please clean up after and dispose of your pet's waste and fur. If your pet causes any damage on the property, the credit card used to make your booking will be charged the repair or replacement costs for damaged items.

Release of Liability - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Any indoor/outdoor, recreational, social or experiential activity you engage in on or off of our property is done at your own risk. Guests assume personal responsibility for their own safety during their stay at our facility (and for any other guests and minors accompanying them). Guests agree to save harmless and release our employees, parent company, suppliers and owners against all actions, proceedings, costs, claims, damages, demands, liabilities and expenses whatsoever (including legal and other fees and disbursements) sustained as a result of your staying at or visiting our facility. USE 

Campfires

Our fire pits are made of steel and get warm when having a campfire. Do not touch the metal parts of the steel fire pit at any time during and following its use and keep children and pets at a safe distance. Be careful of hot coals and embers that may fall out of or under the fire pit. Firewood is available for purchase, please do not bring your own firewood from other areas as this can spread invasive species that can harm native trees.

Damage Deposit

The credit card which is used at the time that you place your booking will be used to hold a $300.00 CAD damage deposit at the time you check-in. It is expected that the cabin, cabin site and BBQ grill be left in the same condition as it was on your arrival. The deposit will be released after you check-out if there are no damages or extra cleaning fees. Your credit card will be charged the replacement cost for damaged or missing items, and forfeited if smoke is detected in the cabin or if the cabin is left in an unclean state. A $50 charge is applicable if the barbecue requires extensive cleaning. If we need to clean-up any human/pet mess indoors or outdoors you will forfeit the damage deposit. Guests must use the washrooms to relieve themselves and may not "go in the woods". The washrooms are less than 100m from the furtherest cabin.

Personal Property

As a precaution please keep your cabin and vehicle locked whenever you are not present. We are not responsible for lost or damaged personal property.

Smoking

There is no smoking permitted in buildings. If smoke is detected in your cabin, your credit card will be charged a $300 cleaning fee. Please dispose of butts in the receptacles provided and packaging in the trash cans, especially cannabis (dogs can consume and then get very ill).

Alcohol & Noise 

Please respect other guests using the facility. Excessive noise or parties and illegal activities are not permitted and may result in you being asked to leave the property immediately without refund. Consumption of alcohol that is brought on site by your party is permitted on your own camp site only. Please drink responsibly.
